Minutes for the Village Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023
The regular meeting of the Village of Galway Board was held on September 5, 2023 at 5212 South Street. Present were Acting Mayor (AM) Best, Trustee Hyde and Clerk-Treasurer Ruman. AM Best called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. Minutes were read and a motion to approve with correction of Acting Mayor Hyde to Acting Mayor Best was made by Trustee Hyde and seconded by AM Best.

Motion to accept Treasurer’s Report made by AM Best and seconded by Trustee Hyde.
Correspondence
Received letter from the NYS Unified Court System requesting audit for 2022-2023.

No report.
Old Business
AM Best continued the discussion about the property located at 5254 North Street. She will provide information in her file to village resident Attorney John Sutton for input. ARPA money may be used to pay attorney fees.
AM Best will talk to Saratoga County regarding the drainage issue in the Village.
Saratoga County has agreed to put up the traffic sign for speed control. Contact person is Jim Bovee.
Village resident Cathryn Hunt has upgraded our website and created a Village Facebook page that does not need to be managed. No one can leave comments.
AM Best is continuing to go door to door with the surveys. South Street is finished.
New Business
Trustee Hyde suggested that the village put an article in the town newsletter.
The village will be participating in the Fall Festival at the Dockstader Field sponsored by the Town of Galway to be held on Saturday October 28 from 11-4 with trick or treating from 1-4. Trustees Hyde and DiLeva will man the table for the village.
The village trick or treating hours for October 31 will be from 4PM-7PM. Clerk-Treasurer Ruman will contact Fireman Bob Schleuter to enlist the help of the Fire Police. It was noted that they did an excellent job last year.
AM Best will get the estimate for the regrading of the park from Chris Kenyon. This will require 5-10 yards of good topsoil and then grass seed.
Trustee DiLeva and AM Best visited the Fragnoli’s who will be having the hayride on East Street on October 20th to discuss the advice from our insurance company which included the need for them to get a policy to cover the event.
The next Comprehensive Plan meeting will be on September 19th at the firehouse with focus on EMS and fire. All are welcome.
AM Best will be away for the regularly scheduled November meeting so the meeting is being rescheduled for November 16th at 6:30.
The next meeting is October 3rd at 6:30 PM.
